I bought this cable to hook up my laptop to my TV using the S-Video connection on the laptop and RCA connector on the TV. It works great. Cable To Go delivered quickly.
This is basically an RCA/S-Video adapter. It does a very good job, with no noticeable loss of quality. Good for use with older TVs.
I have used a lot of different cables over the years. Cables To Go are very high quality products.SHD
I think that it is great and does the job quite nicely, but for one of those other comments up above, you might not be getting a signal from your laptop because you haven't told the laptop to send it out. It isn't just automatic detection, you have to do it yourself. Some of these newer Hp's and Compaq's make you transfer the video signal from the laptop screen to the out cables by hitting the [FN] key while pressing [F4] or something. Thats something to remember. Look closer at the pictures labeled on your keyboard. As far as sound, you are going to have to get some y-audio cables to split from your headphone port.
After struggling with many plugs and cables that claim to convert S-video to RCA that didn't work as advertised, I finally came across this one that works PERFECTLY.I use it to connect the S-Video output of my laptop to the RCA input on my television and it works flawlessly. I have tried multiple other devices claiming to do the same thing, and they either didn't work or only worked in black and white.If you are trying to do the same thing or something similar to the above, this is the cable to buy. High quality.
